Commemoration of M. T. Vasudevan Nair

The college organized a commemorative programme on 28 January 2025 to honour the invaluable literary contributions of the eminent Malayalam writer, M. T. Vasudevan Nair. The programme aimed to remember his profound impact on Malayalam literature and to inspire students to engage deeply with his works and values.
The function began with a warm Welcome Speech by Sri. Vishnu P. A., Assistant Professor, who highlighted M.T.’s remarkable storytelling style, humanistic vision, and lasting influence on Malayalam fiction and cinema.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Prof. C. T. Anitha, College Principal. In her inaugural address, she emphasized the relevance of M.T.’s writings in contemporary times and encouraged students to cultivate reading habits and critical thinking.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. K. K. Sankaran, IQAC Co-ordinator. He spoke about the literary depth, cultural rootedness, and psychological insight found in M.T.’s works, stressing the importance of preserving literary heritage in academic spaces.
The Keynote Address was presented by Captain K. S. Letha, Head of the Malayalam Department. She elaborated on the thematic richness, narrative techniques, and philosophical undertones in M.T.’s novels and short stories, inspiring students to approach literature with sensitivity and analytical insight.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by P. B. Midhu, College Librarian, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and students for making the event meaningful and memorable.
The commemoration served as a fitting tribute to M. T. Vasudevan Nair and reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting literary appreciation and cultural values among students.
