Hostel
Sree Narayana College has a permanent separate hostel building for the accommodation of girl students in the campus. The Ladies’ Hostel was built with UGC assistance availed of during the X Plan. Situated at a serene atmosphere, the Hostel can provide the students with a calm and peaceful living, which is a pre-requisite for serious academic contemplation. It can accommodate 75 students at a time.
The admission to the hostel is offered to the students based on the need and academic merit of the applicants due to the limited availability of seats. Those who wish to get the hostel facility shall submit separate application after obtaining admission in the college and need to pay the caution deposit. The mess fee and rent are to be paid monthly.
Hostel Rules:
Hostellers should maintain a cordial and healthy relationship with all inmates.
Students shall have to abide by the decisions of the hostel wardens with respect to enforcement of the hostel rules failing which strict disciplinary action will be taken.
Students are responsible for the custody of all their belongings including cash and valuables and the college will not be responsible for any loss incurred due to negligence or any other reason whatsoever.
The hostel wardens have full authority to check any room in the hostel at any time.
Consumption of alcoholic drinks, smoking and using other intoxicants and drugs in the hostel and its premises are strictly prohibited.
Hostellers desiring to go out other than to college shall obtain permission from the warden concerned before going out and register whereabouts in the movement register.
Students shall not remain absent from their hostels during the night between 8.00 P.M. to 8.00 A.M. without prior permission of the warden.
No hosteller may remain in the hostel during class hours unless ill and only with permission from the warden.
All cases of illness must be reported immediately to the warden who will arrange for medical aid
Students who absent themselves from the hostel without prior sanction for more than 14 days will be struck off from the rolls.
Hostel will remain closed during the vacation.
Visitors are allowed only after class hours and allowed to visit the hosteller in the visitor’s room only up to 6pm.
Written permission of the parents/guardian is necessary to visit houses of relatives and friends.
No permission to stick pictures, posters or notices on the bathrooms, lavatories, furniture, walls etc.
Students violating any of the hostel rules will be issued a warning. A third warning will result in the student being dismissed from the hostel.
The policy decisions regarding hostel are decided by the resident Deputy Warden in consultation with Principal (Warden) and the decisions are implemented by the Deputy Warden. The decisions of Deputy Warden are final. Moreover there is a caretaker and a cook appointed by the hostel administration committee.
