Department started with Pre-degree in 1967, has now became a full-fledged center conducting Graduate , Postgraduate and Research program . The Department envisions on the vision and mission of college and provide a platform for students to interact on key issues of society and equip them to thrive in the waving scenario of world.

Postgraduate and Research Department of Botany serve as the Center for Phytochemical Research , conduct BSc Botany program ( 1970 onwards ) ,MSc Botany Program (1999 onwards )PhD program( 2013 onwards) now with 12 Research guides from parent and other colleges. The Department is having an enriched Alumni “Haritham” includes the retired teaching and non teaching members also.
