Physics
Courses offered: BSc Physics, BSc(H) Physics and MSc Physics. BSc (H) is effective from 2024-25 academic year onwards.
The Department comprises seven faculty members and one laboratory assistant. It features four laboratories and one research lab. The department has received grants from UGC Additional Grant, FIST, and the DBT-Star Strengthening Scheme for undergraduate students. The research lab is equipped with advanced instrumentation, including a Hall Measurement System (Ecopia HMS-3000), a collapsible 8-inch Dobsonian astronomical telescope (BKDOB8"), a thin film vacuum coating unit, a conductivity cell, and more. The department organizes various activities such as hands-on training programs, workshops, seminars, knowledge exchange programs, and outreach initiatives in collaboration with EMC, the Science Club, the Breakthrough Science Society, and others. Since 2022, the Department of Physics has been offering add-on courses in utility electronics and Arduino-based robotics.
